The Sahanatie Community Fund’s philosophy is guided by its commitment to the Mohawks of Kahnawá:ke (Kahnawa'kehró:non), its youth and for the generations that follow. Translated into English, Sa-ha-nat-ie means ‘name travels on the wind’.

The uniqueness of the SCF comes from its dedicated funding obtained from its grantors, Absolute Poker (AP), UltimateBet (UB) and NextActive Networks (NAN). Through the financial contributions of AP, UB and NAN, an annual $50,000.00 ongoing trust fund and commitment has been established for the community of Kahnawake and its people.

The Sahanatie Community Fund is a proposal-driven organization; the Sahanatie Community Fund invites funding proposals from anyone who has a good idea that seeks to benefit the people of Kahnawá:ke.

It is the intent for the Sahanatie Community Fund to work closely with Kahnawá:ke’s non-profit organizations and the community at large by accepting proposals that service the needs of its population and meet the approved criteria. These proposals will be reviewed and donations would be granted once a need has been established.
